Collaboration is important for any artist in music. In fact, most songs you ever hear on the radio are projects of collaboration. Many big artists and super producers from dawn of modern commercial music and radio, have collaborated with each other. Nonetheless, collaboration has benefited me greatly. I’ve been able to learn a lot but also work with great people.
So today I write this blog to share with you three thing I’ve gained from my own collaborations:
-
It makes you better: In order to grow in aspect in life you need to expose yourself to new information. As a music creator this is something that remains king. There’s lots of creative approaches and by collaborating with many people, you get to new things that you could borrow and add to your game.
-
Collaboration becomes a place for reinvention: Picking off from the last point, collaboration is a place to reinvent and come up with new ideas. Since everybody has their own style or perspective, some really cool things can come about. Many heads are better than one and every music artist should embrace it. Take a little gamble, put yourself out there by working with others, and some the best music you ever created could come from it.

It brings resources together: Say you were a new writer in the market and you’re interested in writing dance tracks. However, you know not a person and where to start. A good thing in this hypothetical case is to team up with somebody who does dance music. For example, there might be a big DJ/producer in your local scene looking for new artists to help him or her write new tracks. Bring these talents and energies are a good way to accomplish goals. Don’t underestimate this.
