“Oh I feel sorry for your generation,” is usually the first thing I hear ageists or haters say when talking about young peoples music today. This negativity however, is not counterproductive but makes people sound whiney bishes!
Bad and great music has always been around. The same thing you tell us, your elders were saying to you. Furthermore, one can simply go on Youtube and pull the tape decks of your generations music. I won’t go into detail, but let’s just say there was a lot of bad (AND GOOD) disco music.
Nonetheless, instead of chastising us, show and teach us. Engage in conversations and maybe try to understand where and what music is today. You possibly could learn something in the process (you don’t have to like or agree with it), and I think that’s better than saying…”music today is garbage!”
