I just want to touch on something briefly -commit to learning the basics of the music business.
I’m no expert, still growing, and isn’t the most knowledgable. Nevertheless, something that I commit to, is learning the basic of the music business.
Wether your a creator or a music professional, you need to know how the business works. I can’t count how many times I’ve met a great musician or producer, and they have no clue about how the royalty system works. It’s absurd…why?…a lot of people want to be a professional but won’t take the time in crafting themselves into becoming what they want.
So this is my advice, start googling at the very least. Reach out to people who aspire to and ask them questions. This is the process of growing, otherwise you might be the next big thing that got shafted into a crooked deal.
Remember the music business has a lot of sharks, WATCH OUT!
