“What is music publishing?” is a question I usually get asked. Sometimes, people get confused and think it has something to do with music marketing or PR. I simplified response I usually tell them, “getting music into mass media.”
Of course that doesn’t say much, but it is the creation of value for music in use within a medium or vehicle, in exchange for a license and money.
